A testament to human achievement, Andriopol is an ecumenopolis, or planet-spanning city. planetary records state that the world was an barren proto-Earth, possessing only seas full of microbial life. It was purchased from the Terran Mandate by a society of socialist activists and labor unions, hoping to create a model society literally from the ground up. Built on a foundation of sustainability and self-sufficiency, Andriopolis became the largest planned city in the sector.
While all worlds were decimated by the Scream, Andriopol suffered the least of any urbanized worlds. When shipments from other Mandate worlds suddenly ceased, the local government planning nodes were able to quickly implement rationing measures. The population easily fell back on the extensive network of hydroponics facilities for sustenance, and the planet's potent manufacturing base was already designed around domestic industries. This fortunate legacy has allowed Andriopol to maintain a high level of development throughout the Silence.
The world has spent the last several decades working to rebuild following their siege during the Deidamean War.
